You can tell a lot about a person from the books they read.... I suppose.
1) Total number of books I've owned:
You need an actual number? Okay. 24,536. Some I have even bought and then culled and then re-bought and then culled and re-bought – I think I’ve done that with most of the Narnia books at one time or another.
2) The last book I bought:
Along the River Road: Past and Present on Louisiana’s Historic Byway
3) The last book I read:
Garlic & Sapphires – Ruth Reichl – finished it last night. The bit about the homeless guy on the subway made me cry.
4) 5 books that mean a lot to me:
Neuromancer – William Gibson (A compelling read)
Etiquette – Emily Post (My ultimate reference)
Village of the Small Houses – Will Ferguson (A very touching story about childhood friendships and the different paths laid out before us largely by socioeconomic circumstances)
I Want to Grow Up, I Want to Grow Hair, I Want to go to Boise – Erma Bombeck (helped me to see the humour in a less than ideal circumstances when I was younger)
The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe – C.S. Lewis (my mum used to read this to me aloud at bedtime in the summer at our cottage)
5) Tag 5 people and have them fill this out on their blogs:
I am shy about tagging, so will call for volunteers!
