Welcome Back!

....to me.

I have been a naughty girl, with the lack of blogging.  Here is a short recitation of what I have been doing instead:

-buying new house.
-moving from old house to new.
-scouring new house from top to bottom as was filthy.
-finding bonus pair of used crusty underpants in bathroom wall behind cupboard.
-finding bonus 1980's porn in heat vent.
-finding bonus crusty sock under carpet.
-renovating new house.
-shopping for cabinet handles and countertop (yay shopping).
-having no kitchen (as had to rip out kitchen of new house as part of renovations).
-having a birthday (happy birthday to me).
-having our second wedding anniversary (I love you Cakes!)
-having company (thanks for helping us move and clean and renovate Mum and Heat!)

phew. I think that about covers it.

Honestly, there's been a bare minmum of cooking going on in this house as there was no kitchen benchtop, no sink, no running water, a disgusting oven and the pots were packed somewhere inaccessible. We did eat out a lot though (read: three meals a day for weeks), and it allowed us to sample a few of the restaurants we've been meaning to get to.

I now have 1 benchtop and although the stove is still gross (no possibility of salvation there, just a need for a new stove!) I am back in the game baby! I christened the new digs by preparing a cheese fondue followed closely with the best caramel fondue ever!

I also made a delightful little supper for Cakes last night as well. I feel so much less out of sorts now that I can cook again....

Congrats on the house, the anniversary, and happy birthday!

This falls under 'if anyone has a good excuse, it's you'.

Thanks Stephanie! It really is amazing how quickly time passes when you're busy! I'm glad to be able to start cooking again though! The kitchen isn't quite finished but it does look a whole lot better, and I've got a countertop again!
