I have a lot of cooking and serving tools and gadgets and things.
I love browsing through kitchen stores and more often than not, I come home with something I never knew existed, much less set out to purchase.
In keeping with my newfound new years restraint. I have vowed not to purchase each and every gadget I fall in love with. Because frankly, I'm running out of room. I've been waiting impatiently for Cakes to finish the basement renovation (going very nicely I note - keep up the good work sweetie) so that I can move all the extra linens downstairs and I can covnert that hall closet into a kitchen appliance / pantry place.
From now on, I will be shopping with my eyes and camera only, and sharing what I find with you, once a week, in the hope that I can satisfy my shopping needs virtually and maybe I'll inspire one or two of you with ideas.
My resolution clearly came none too soon as I found these babies while browsing Overstock.com yesterday.
I must say, If I was not already firmly in love with my lavender Kitchenaid, I would find some way to buy several of these. How gorgeous are they? All those colours? All those options for different finishes? A work of art I tell you, and with matching blenders? Who cares if they work? The just look so damn good. For $199 and $125? Sheesh. I think I'll just put my credit card down and back away from the screen now.

I saw that mixer (or one very much like it) at Home Outfitters two weeks ago. It was very, very tempting.

Matt and I found those mixers last year...but fortunately price and fragility (!) prevented us from adding a THIRD mixer to our household!

A third? You mean you have a second? Does that mean I can have a second? My birthday is coming up....

Matt had a gorgeous K5 when I met him. We not long ago inherited his grandmother's smaller Kitchenaid mixer (she didn't die or anything, but down-sized considerably), so that's two.
And of course you can have another! Tell Cakes I said so. ('cause I carry *so* much weight in your relationship...!)

Anonymoose: Oh my god! I just popped into Home Outfitters at lunchtime to have a closeup look at these babies and they are gorgeous BUT Home Outfitters charges $595 for the mixer and $369 for the blender! Yikes. Much better off buying them for $199 and $125 US at Overstock.com - even with shipping and exchange, it'd work out heaps cheaper!

Well, I said it was tempting; I never said it was cheap! ;) The nice thing is you can touch these ones before you decide to splurge on them through Overstock.

An ad in today's (Feb. 10) Edmonton Journal lists the mixers at $199.99 and the blenders at $99.99 at Home Outfitters this weekend. They list the regular price as $559.99 for the mixers -- they're gorgeous, sure, but that's a little insane!
